Personal Description:
Hi! I call myself a physics tutor, but I don't approach it the same way others do. William Butler Yeats once said that "Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire." There are a bunch of theorems, facts, and formulas in physics, but memorizing them isn't really the point. As such, I focus on helping my students develop the problem-solving skills they need to arrive at the solution, with the understanding that different students will get there in different ways. STEM subjects aren't always taught this way, but they should be.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 13 years of experience as a high school mathematics teacher and five more as a college instructor, so I understand how to explain concepts in an educational setting. I also have a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.
Tutoring Approach:
Both teacher and pupil have to put in hard work for education to succeed. I like to ask my students how they've been studying when we're not together to help them develop independent study skills.
