Personal Description:

My name is Kelsey and I love to teach. I've been travelling North America full time since September 2017. I have been tutoring for a long time, and online tutoring allows me to continue doing what I love while on the road.

Tutoring Experience:

I received both my BSc in Biology (with a teachable in math) and my BEd from Nipissing University. I have 10+ years of experience tutoring, and I was the Education Director of an Oxford Learning Centre for 2+ years. My primary role at Oxford consisted of designing programs for each new student, and modifying the programs as their needs changed. I have a particular strength in teaching math to junior high and early high school students, and teaching language to primary and junior high students.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is unique. I believe that the education system is not designed to get the most out of every student, but rather to modify programming to give the illusion of success (on the part of the school/board). I believe that educators have the best intentions, but they often don't have the resources to help bring about the best in their students. Many students' individual needs get passed over because there are students with "greater need" in their class.

Every child deserves to know they are smart. Every child needs to learn how to recognize and tap into their strengths. Over the years, I have developed many strategies to help your child do just that. I can guarantee you will notice a confidence boost within the first few weeks of tutoring with me.
