Personal Description:
Hello,
My name is Keah, and I am offering English, Social Science and Writing tutoring sessions for university-level students, as well as high school students, in-person and virtually in the Halifax area.
Tutoring Experience:
My credentials include a recent PhD in Communications from York University, as well as an MA in English and Film Studies from the University of Alberta and a honours Bachelor of Arts in English from McGill. I have been a Writing Consultant for two years, helping university-level students with their essay writing, composition, grammar and research. I have also been an undergraduate Course Director and a Teaching Assistant at the university-level. Throughout my teaching and writing consultant work, I always take a learner-focused approach, to make sure that the motivation and interest of the student guides the session.
Tutoring Approach:
I am eager to help students refine and improve their essay writing and research interpretation, to help them excel in courses. For high school students, I can help with essay writing and structure, word choice, and interpretation. I am compassionate and supportive as a tutor, and love to help students feel more confident in their skills, to help them with their longterm learning objectives.
I am available for in-person tutoring sessions on the Halifax peninsula, as well as virtual sessions if that is preferred. My rate is 45$/hour.
Looking forward to meeting with you, and helping you feel more confident in your coursework!
