Personal Description:
Hello! I'm a recent Queen's University graduate, having completed my Master of Applied Science in biomechanical engineering. I am new to Calgary and currently working in academic research!
Tutoring Experience:
While in university I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for a variety of courses. One of my roles was to act as a project manager for a team of first year engineering students where I helped to keep them focused and on task, while also being able to clarify any assignment questions and provide feedback on their work. I also assisted in running hands-on lab courses within the mechanical engineering department and facilitated workshops for high school students participating in on campus STEM programs.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to be flexible and adaptive. Each student learns in a different manner and it is important to find strategies that fit their individual needs. The tutor-student relationship should also be collaborative as I am there to support the student in their study process with the ultimate goal of helping them to become an independent learner.
