Personal Description:

I have recently finished a double degree program at Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) in Waterloo, Ontario. I will be officially graduating in June of this year with Honours Bachelor of Business Administration and Honours Bachelor of Arts specializing in Financial Mathematics. I am currently living in Fernie and working full time as a ski instructor. I am looking to further improve my teaching abilities by working as a mathematics tutor. I enjoy working with children and those who are eager to learn.

Tutoring Experience:

During university, I was a mathematics instructional assistant, tasked with helping first year students complete weekly lab assignments. I was also a public speaking coach in WLU's Golden Speakers Club, assisting students with improving their oral presentation skills and general networking abilities. I am also a certified ski instructor with ample experience teaching children.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe most people learn best when they feel they have some control in how they are taught and feel a part of the process. It is also helpful when they can look back and see the results of their hard work. I strive to include my students in the process of guiding their own learning and continuously reflecting on what stage they are at, and what is next to come.
