Personal Description:

My name is Kathy,
I have so many interests from animals to gardening and even gaming. I love working with students and watching their confidence grow as they progress. I currently work for a Anchor Academy in BC and I am looking to help other students who may be a little stuck in their studies. I believe that the student comes first and it is so valuable to be able to break down school work and really understand it before moving forward (especially in math).

Tutoring Experience:

For the last 3 years I have been working with elementary, Junior and Highschool kids in a variety of subjects. I tutor math, english, social, science, geography and biology. Before entering the BC school system I taught horse back riding lessons for over 20 years, I have taken many coaching courses related to sports and riding.
I am in my practicum for my Educational assistant diploma through the Academy of career college, where I gained knowledge in child psychology, lesson planning and teaching methods. I currently tutor kids with mild-moderate learning disabilities and I find great enjoyment in watching them thrive.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to make it fun and really help kids relate what they are learning to everyday real life.
