Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Julia and I'm very excited to help you and your family on your educational journey! I'm a graduate of Queen's University with a degree in Environmental Biology, and I love to learn. I have very strong skills in math, english, and social studies, and I'm committed to making learning fun. A few other fun facts about me: I have been a violin student for about 17 years now, I have two beautiful dogs, and my favourite pastimes are knitting, reading, and writing.
Tutoring Experience:
I spent several years teaching swimming lessons to children aged ~2-16, so I have lots of experience tailoring general learning goals to individual needs. I also tutored my sister in Advanced Functions when she was in high school a few years ago.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that all brains work in unique ways, and my educational philosophy centers around learning about your brain and presenting information in a way that makes sense to you! Education is so important for intellectual growth, emotional intelligence, and self-confidence. I believe in the power of individualized instruction tailored to students' diverse needs, interests, and learning styles. I place a strong emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity, and my main goal is to make learning fun and cultivate lifelong learners.
