Personal Description:
Hello! I am an undergraduate student at McGill University studying English Literature. I graduated high school with the International Baccalaureate Diploma, within which I received a 7 (highest score) for mathematics, and the English Award. I am fluent in English and Mandarin, which are both my native languages. I received the ARCT Performer's Diploma for piano and I can help with basic music theory.
Tutoring Experience:
I have informal experience throughout middle and high school helping fellow classmates in English and math, including editing essays and applications. I also volunteered at educational summer camps for elementary school children.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring will vary depending on the goals and learning style of the tutee. Everyone learns differently, so I would first get to know them and understand their needs, then create specific plans for detailed teaching, homework help, or more general advice. I would try my best to cater to their learning style, such as using visual aids or acronyms for memory, and check in often for feedback and to make sure they understand the material.
