Personal Description:
Hi! I'm Jen, a lifelong learner who loves uncovering new and exciting ways to approach problem solving. Whatever the subject, there is a way to have fun with it and make learning painless & enjoyable. I truly enjoy the process of figuring out how to achieve this one-on-one with students, based on their needs and interests.
I have my bachelor's in Environmental Engineering and Agronomy as well as a degree in Welding. Given my years of experience in hands-on industries, I have a unique approach particularly well-suited to physical and visual learners.
Tutoring Experience:
I've tutored high school and college students in a variety of subjects for over 10 years. I particularly enjoy tutoring math and sciences to students who have great difficulty. I've often found many problems stem from use of a teaching style that is not adapted to the student's way of understanding the topic matter.
Tutoring Approach:
I enjoy approaching a problem from many angles to see which strategy is simplest and most logical for the student. I think it is vitally important that a student be able to use methods that resonate with their learning style and skills.
