Personal Description:

In addition to my extensive teaching experience, I have also worked as a teacher around the world. I am comfortable providing academic support to students in all academic areas as well as providing them with homework assistance. As a Japanese tutor, I like to find a baseline where my student feels confident and then start building from there. Whether you need help with your conversational Japanese or you would like to work on your reading and writing skills, I can help.

Tutoring Experience:

I completed my undergraduate education, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Public Policy. I then went on to complete a master's degree in Fine Art, as well as a master's degree specializing in Education, which is a fantastic asset in my role as a Japanese tutor. I have decades of experience working with children and young adults across the world. I have worked as a substitute teacher and special educator in various subject areas. As a high school and middle school assistant principal, I have only deepened my understanding of teaching practice through my frequent classroom observations.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach varies from student to student because they all have unique needs that need to be met in very different ways. It takes time to build a positive relationship and I enjoy getting to know the way my students think and learn so that I can develop specific approaches to helping them maximize their learning.
