Personal Description:

In my opinion, a good English student makes for a good English tutor. I began tutoring middle school students when I was in high school and found that learning is a two-way street. I enjoy getting feedback about where my students are so I can understand the goals they're working towards.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my bachelor's degree as a double major in Communications and Spanish. I have taught English and ESL in various middle and high schools. I have worked for a newspaper and radio station and am a proponent of proper grammar and writing. I can tutor students in English topics like grammar and syntax and essay editing. I can also help you prepare for the ACT English and Writing sections.

Tutoring Approach:

When I first begin tutoring a student, I aim to find out where they are in the subject so I can help them find the path they need to follow to get to where they need to be. Building a rapport with my students is important to me as well.
