Personal Description:

One of my strengths is explaining the core concepts of difficult topics so that they are more accessible to students. I believe that students learn best when they are intellectually challenged and encouraged to reproduce what they've learned. As a Portuguese tutor, this can be accomplished through conversation in the language to apply what has been learned.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering. As a self-taught translator and engineering student, I understand the difficulties students face when attempting to grasp abstract subjects. I've learned how to overcome these issues in my own academic career and enjoy teaching these strategies to other students.

Tutoring Approach:

It's important to identify a student's current level and upcoming goals so that we can create a schedule that will help them pursue those goals efficiently. Throughout our sessions together I consistently provide positive reinforcement and point out the progress the student has made.
