Personal Description:
Hi, I am an occasional teacher with the Lambton Kent District School Board. I have just finished my first school year of occasional teaching. I graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Education Degree in 2015. I graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree double majoring in Sociology and Criminology in 2014.
Tutoring Experience:
I keep myself very busy teaching as I also work at Sylvan Learning Centre in the area as well as tutor some other students privately. I have always enjoyed teaching and making that difference to the students who need a little extra help to reach their goals.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is very traditional. I don't believe everything in the classroom needs to be done using technology. I absolutely love technology but I am beginning to notice that once in awhile some students I have taught have actually seen too much and have become less interested in the work they are attempting to do because of it. For my tutoring, all of the work given will be either pencil and paper or hands on activities (depending on the skill). The lesson will differentiate to each individual student… for example: If a student needs more work on writing paragraphs… they will write me a paragraph every session… etc.
