Personal Description:

I am a Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan).

Tutoring Experience:

I have my peer tutor level one attained from Mount Royal University. I have peer tutored introduction to psychology courses, introduction to statistical and research methods, as well as advanced statistical methods at the undergradua**Contact Detail Removed**vel. I was also a teaching assistant for a 3rd psychology course (Forensic Psychology) as well as two 4th year advanced courses in Forensic Psychology.

Tutoring Approach:

I meet the student where they are at and best develop a tutoring and learning plan that best meets the needs of the student. I tend to focus more on study and learning processes so that the methods and practices discussed can also be applied to courses outside of the ones that I am tutoring. As much as I focus on more the learning strategies used, I do like to discuss the course material. However, I encourage students to read the course material on their own first and then bring any questions/discussion points/challenging areas to the tutoring session to discuss in more detail as the majority of learning occurs outside of the tutoring time. All in all, I'm there to support the student and meet them where they are at.
