Personal Description:

I am a software developer with RBC, specializing in Mainframe application development (4+ years of work experience). However I am also comfortable in more modern technologies such as Java, since I studied (and graduated) Computer Science in an undergraduate degree program in the past 5 years. My first undergraduate degree was actually English Literature so my communication skills are above average.

Tutoring Experience:

I've done some tutoring of elementary/high-school students before as a volunteer, and post-secondary co-op students at work, but I don't have professional tutoring/teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe communication is the most important part of teaching, you need the student to feel comfortable engaging with you on a personal level so that they can provide feedback on whether your teaching method works. As a teacher, you need to be willing to change your teaching method and try new approaches if the student is in disagreement.
