Personal Description:
I have just completed my Master of Teaching degree at the University of Toronto and currently, I am an Ontario certified high school teacher. My main subjects are General Science, Biology and Chemistry, however, I also teach Math, ESL and Arabic.
I have a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry as well as a Master's degree in Biochemistry from McGill University.
In addition, I have a diploma in developmental disabilities where I worked as a teaching assistant for children with special needs before I decided to become a certified high school teacher.
I have taught in many schools in Peel and Halton in the past few years. I am very passionate about tutoring because it allows me to witness the genuine academic and personal growth in my students. I am organized, professional and have an outstanding work ethic.
I am also a mother of four young children, and I understand the challenges when kids have difficulty understanding at school, and that every individual student has his/her own learning style.
Tutoring Experience:
* I have been a tutor for over 20 years, since I was a high school student.
* I was a teaching assistant in the Biology department at McGill Univertsity for two consecutive years.
* I have taught in many schools in Peel and Halton in the past few years as a teaching assistant, and as a high school teacher.
* In addition, as part of my Master research on exploring the academic integration of newly arriving immigrants, I have been teaching many students in ELD and ESL classes in high schools and NGOs, and successfully engaging them.
* I have two publications in Scientific Journals: Cancer Research (Dec. 2010) and Genes & Immunity (Apr. 2007) and one recent publication (June 2018) in the Master of Teaching Research Journal.
Tutoring Approach:
I whole-heatedly believe that the key to academic success is confidence in one's own ability to achieve that success. My own academic experiences have given me a breadth of knowledge and a skill set that I look to transfer to my students. I know that I will do whatever it takes to help my students understand the difficult concepts, or whatever they find challenging. I will use differentiated instruction that fits with my student's learning style, and will engage my students with the subject matter. I have amazing students' reviews from over 20 students I taught in the past year in the high schools in Halton, and I am willing to share them with my potential students at our first meeting.

To put it bluntly, we couldn't be happier.
Ghada was *ALWAYS* well prepared for every session and setting the right example for our son to do the same. It was obvious in the first session that this was an experienced professional educator looking to achieve the best results and outcome over time… Ghada was always proactive with understanding the course timetable, what topics needed to be understood and when….and then working backwards on a proper practice plan to help get our son prepared for tests and assignments. When subjects or topics didn’t ‘stick’, Ghada was creative in using multiple approaches to see if she could attack the understanding in another way to get it to land.
Communication and expectations were clear and feedback transparent. On first lesson, Ghada set up a whatsapp group that our son, her and us were members of -- so we had constant visibility on assignments/topics/feedback in real time. Any assignments for Ghada were submitted through the whatsapp as well. This was a critical component and housed our communication right through to June 2020.
Ghada was disciplined but flexible -- there were many times (especially when COVID hit) where timetables and expectations shifted. Ghada reacted without a pause and continued to prioritize sessions and progress right to the end.
And while I could go on and on about how impressed we were collectively at the approach, professionalism and (frankly) results, we were truly most impressed with Ghada’s true care for our son’s progress. I don’t think that I was prepared for how invested Ghada was with our son’s success. This not only rubbed off on us, but most importantly our son. There are lifelong lessons in approach and preparation that will continue to pay dividends as he moves through university and beyond. With schools looking at online courses for the first term, these new skills will be put to the test immediately.
Overall, we feel very lucky to have found Ghada when we did -- and our only regret is that we didn’t meet her a year earlier -- who knows what kind of progress could have been made with more time…
