Personal Description:
I am a passionate psychology student and I write articles for various journals and blogs expanding the psychological notions to different areas. I was a medical student in London, and was in the first decile of my year, but I willingly chose to switch to psychology as I felt it was where I was called to provide the most help. I have always felt the redeeming effect of direct contact with people, which is why I have been tutoring people since my high school years in all topics I thought I could be of help.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching and mentoring students since high school helping them with a wide variety of topics from French to Maths including Biology and even Music. I was also in charge of a number of students in their last year (French Baccalaureate) and helped them especially in Biology and in French which turned out to be extremely productive in terms of results in te official exam.
Tutoring Approach:
In order to teach something, I consider myself needing to be at least 3 to 4 steps ahead of the material so I am able to answer all the questions, and deal with any possible uncertainty or exception. It is not only about understanding the content of the information, but its significance and its relevance to other domains, and other ideas that might have been taught earlier. In terms of the approach with the student, I don't consider a teaching lesson to be a monologue but rather a dialogical endeavor where I can understand exactly the strengths, weaknesses and interests of the student in order to make the experience as productive as it can be.
