Personal Description:

I'm an English tutor because of my intense desire to communicate what I know to students in ways that they will not only understand but enjoy. I am comfortable helping students with every level of English, including literary analysis, academic writing, English grammar, and linguistic elements such as phonetics. I am also comfortable as an ESL instructor. Finally, I am a friendly and knowledgeable instructor who can relate to students from a variety of backgrounds.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been an English educator for the past six years, working with everybody from middle school students to undergraduates in that time frame. My other qualifications include being a certified ESL instructor, an adjunct professor of writing, and a seasoned middle/high school teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that the best way to teach a student new material is to relate it to something that they already know, helping it feel familiar even if it's new. I also believe that incentives can go a long way toward motivating students.
