Personal Description:
I am passionate and committed to teaching and learning and I strive to instill the same passion in my students while helping them improve their grades. As a chemistry tutor, I believe that learning is about understanding, not memorizing formulas and that getting the right answer to a problem is not as important as understanding and devising a method to solve it. I am able to cover a wide range of topics related to chemistry.
Tutoring Experience:
I completed my undergraduate education and obtained a bachelor's degree with majors in Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Biology. I first started tutoring in high school and have experience tutoring various math and science classes. In addition to chemistry and physics, I can also help with things like SAT prep.
Tutoring Approach:
I start with establishing what areas the student finds challenging and work on those. I then go on to work through practice problems with them step-by-step. My tutoring approach relies heavily on practice because I believe that a student can fully synthesize what they have learned through practice. This equips the student with the tools to be able to work through homework problems and difficult test questions independently.
