Personal Description:

I am currently relaxing after a 29 year career with the City of Calgary. I was a senior economist for a decade with The City, then ventured off into other departments. I was a civilian Manager with the Calgary Fire Department, a Corporate Consultant, and spend another seven years with Planning and Development. I know municipalities well and have used my economic training throughout my career. I enjoy economics a lot, am taking a data science course online with HarvardX (using R as the programming language), and am doing a bit of consulting work with Dr. Anson Ho at Ryerson University.

Tutoring Experience:

I did teach Excel to adult learners for the Calgary Board of Education in the late 1990's. Other than that, I recently delivered two guest lectures to Real Estate Economics students at Ryerson University. I often think that my experience as a supervisor at Fire and with Planning and Development was like a teaching job. I was the experienced bureaucrat teaching young people how to succeed.

I am a very approachable and friendly person. I enjoy teaching and coaching people, whether they work for me or need my help.
