Personal Description:

I am able to assist students at all grade levels as they develop their writing, reading, and English skills. Working as an English tutor is an opportunity for me to helps students develop their academic skills as well as valuable qualities like empathy and an interest in different perspectives. During one-on-one sessions, I can focus on a particular student's needs without having to accommodate other learners.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing. Also, I have a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Tutoring Approach:

Trust is an important part of any educational relationship. When I build trust as an English tutor, students are able to believe that we are setting realistic, achievable expectations together. I also incorporate "gradual release" techniques to move students from seeing me do something to being able to do it themselves with no assistance, which also has the added benefit of boosting a student's confidence.
