Personal Description:

I enjoy working with high school and college students as a physics tutor for standard and advanced courses such as AP Physics. Instead of offering lecture-style teaching as one would expect in a classroom, I work cooperatively with the student to help them discover their own potential as a learner so that they are able to develop the skill of problem solving which can then be applied in or out of the classroom.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in biology. I believe education should be more than an ends to a means. While it is important to pass classes and achieve academic goals, it's more important to learn to think critically and for one's self. Therefore, it's my goal to not only help a student do better in their course but also to foster skills that will serve them throughout their academic and professional careers.

Tutoring Approach:

I take the time to assess a student's academic strengths and weaknesses and learn about their goals, world view, and learning style before determining a learning plan that will help them reach their academic goals efficiently.
