Personal Description:

I was raised overseas and have been to 35 countries, which has broadened my horizons and connected me with the globe! I moved back to Canada when I was 18 to pursue my teaching credentials in Langley, BC. I have been a lover of language and people for a long time and have happily taught English and Social Sciences for the last 12 years. I take professional development seriously and enjoy leadership and personal growth materials. I play guitar, love sailing, and enjoy being active. I am beginning to learn Spanish.

Tutoring Experience:

I have 12 years of experience as a professional teacher in British Columbia and I have a handful of years of tutoring in English, ESL, and Social Studies (History and Geography). In the past four years I developed coursework teaching Economic Theory and Law Studies.

Tutoring Approach:

Just like in my classroom, innovation and fun are high on my list, but we are absolutely going to learn something of value together. The student's life, interests, and beliefs are extremely important to me. I use stories, illustrations, and analogies to explain things and check for understanding often.
