Personal Description:
The most important part of my job as an economics tutor is making sure that students understand why the correct answer is right, not just parrot it back to me because it's the correct answer. I hope to prepare students to run successful businesses or formulate economic policy, and you have to really understand what you are analyzing to do either. I love tutoring quantitative concepts such as economics because I enjoy seeing homework problems get finished.
Tutoring Experience:
I have worked in teaching-related roles for the past four years, including volunteering at summer camps and afterschool programs. I also tutored for three semesters, covering courses such as Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Precalculus, and Algebra II.
Tutoring Approach:
I would describe my approach as very conversational. I want to guide students and empower them with the critical thinking skills they'll need to tackle problems they'll face in the future. I also discuss each student's goals and instruct them accordingly.
