Personal Description:
Hey! My name is Claire. I am an undergraduate student at Yale University. I am a member of the Women's hockey team at Yale. I am currently studying economics and considering a double-major in psychology. I am confident in my understanding of elementary school material from most subjects. I love to work with children and am very patient! I like to make studying as fun as possible while ensuring quality learning is going on.
Tutoring Experience:
I have never worked as an official paid tutor but I have been tutoring my peers for many years now and have always offered homework help when babysitting. I also have experience teaching children sports and dancing so I have the ability to patiently instruct children.
Tutoring Approach:
I truly believe that learning is fun, however, I understand it can be very frustrating when something just "doesn't click." In younger children, I like to make up games or rhymes to help solidify what we are learning. As children grow up and start learning tougher material, I employ other tactics that help students approach subjects from new, and hopefully clearer, angles. I understand that no two learners are the exact same so I pride myself in being adaptable to each new student.
