Personal Description:
I'm passionate about the English language; I love it. I studied it. I have a degree in it.
If you need help (a little or a lot) with English, whether it be reading, writing, comprehension, research, essays, time management, vocabulary and/or pronunciation, or anything else along those lines, look no further.
Now that I have retired from teaching, I am pleased to be able to offer my services to all ages and grades on a personalized and individual basis.
I am much smarter than AI and don't rely on input by random people, as does AI. Thinking, reasoning, and knowing are much more effective than anything a program could give you.
I am flexible, knowledgeable, patient and kind.
Here's a copy and paste of an email testimonial from a former student:
–––––––––––
"Christine is so smart and knows a lot of words. (and she's funny). She helped me understand what the teacher wants and how to get better grades. We started by sorting out where I was in my assignments (way behind), then she gave me a schedule to get them completed. She helped keep me calm while I caught up on my assignments, then she helped me write my papers and my university application. I'm very happy to tell you that I was accepted to the school of my choice! I highly recommend her. She's the best! When I go to this university, I'll call on Christine again so that I can do well there too."

I work with primary students, high school student, university students, and adults.
English can be tricky, what with the rules for this and that and the exceptions to those rules so I will guide you in your understanding.
Post Secondary educators expect you to already know how to study, juggle multiple deadlines, research, write, and cite papers, so let's work together so that you understand these things, and papers become easy.
I don't offer discounts, except occasionally for groups, because I feel that doing so cheapens the experience.
Tutoring Experience:
I retired early from teaching but since I love to teach and prefer one-to-one rather than a classroom, I now tutor. I find it more effective and efficient for the student, and with individualized focus we can overcome any weak spots or confusion so that school just feels easier and makes more sense.
I tutored overseas for a few years and have been tutoring in Canada for many years now.
I have quite a few testimonials and have guided many students to successful completion of their studies, understanding of the vagaries of the English language and more.
I have several repeat tutoring clients and many referrals.
Tutoring Approach:
Everyone learns in his/her own way, so the cookie-cutter approach of most schools is not always effective.
I tailor the lessons to the student: what you need, at your own pace.
I believe tutoring supplements schooling and can help a student get ahead by focusing on areas of understanding.
