Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Chris. I am an 8-th generation Canadian who has lived most of his life in Toronto, but I have also lived in Asia for a few years. I enjoy music, exploring Toronto, reading, and classic movies.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a TESL-certified ESL teacher with over 14 years experience teaching international students from over 70 cultures and countries. Ten years was spent at ILAC, Canada's largest and most award-winning ESL academy. I am mostly a business English and English for Academic Purposes teacher, but I can do anything from pronunciation, to grammar, to testing skills like IELTS, TOEFL, and CAE. I also have experience working with some of Canada's largest investment companies, and manufacturing industries. My lessons are fun with a focus on your needs and making real, obvious progress. If you need help with resumes, job or university applications, or presentation skills, job search skills I am your man!

Tutoring Approach:

First, we look at your needs. What do you want to achieve with English? Then, together, we create a step-by-step strategy to help you accomplish your goals. I have fantastic resources: online, hard copies, and in my network (all free!) to help you realize your English communication dream. Each session has a detailed agenda, and I provide written feedback for each lesson to help you progress and prepare for our next meeting. I really love teaching as well as the English language, and I think you will see that in my energy and the fun I bring to your lessons. I tutor online via Skype or Zoom and in-person at a convenient location
