Personal Description:

I am a high school graduate from Glenforest Secondary School. I have completed the International Baccalaureate program with a final average of 97%. The courses I studied throughout high school included higher level biology, higher level psychology, standard level math and standard level chemistry. I am a dedicated and passionate tutor with a deep enthusiasm for education and helping students succeed. Over many years of tutoring students, I have honed my communication and problem solving skills. I have also adapted to many different tutoring styles depending on the students learning style and strengths and weaknesses as every student learns differently. Through my tutoring lessons, I try to ensure that my students not only understand the material but also build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Whether it's through interactive virtual sessions, thought-provoking assignments, or creative problem-solving, I am dedicated to providing a well-rounded learning experience that goes beyond rote memorization. I am also very outgoing and I love to engage with my students to get to know them better and engage with them to better understand their way of learning. Overall, my academic journey, combined with my extensive tutoring experience, has equipped me with the tools needed to guide students towards academic excellence and personal growth. Tutoring Experience:

I have experience tutoring Math and English to elementary school students. I volunteered at a public school for 2 years which involved creating lesson plans through google slides, creating worksheets, planning activities related to the course materials and hosting weekly lessons through google meet. To test the students, I used to create monthly tests based on the worksheets previously provided to the students and also through different platforms like kahoots or mini quizzes using several different online platforms. I also have experience as a summer camp instructor. I worked along with other instructors to prepare science lessons for the kids at the camp and participate and engage in different science-based activities with them. Overall, I have 3 years of experience working with students and teaching them using several different online platforms and getting them engaged with learning through different activities and making learning fun for them.

Tutoring Approach:

Throughout my tutoring experience, I have used several different tutoring techniques depending on the students' needs and learning styles. I have used several platforms in the past like google meets, Microsoft teams and zoom to tutor virtually. I also use google suite platforms like google classroom to provide homework and lesson plans and also google docs and slides to prepare my lessons. Depending on the course, I also use platforms like one note or good notes to provide the students with handwritten notes which helps them better understand the concepts. Also, depending on the students learning style, whether it is through visuals or through activities, I try to embed different activities that include all different learning methods for the student to fully grasp the content. Some of these methods include having videos with different animations and visuals, using analogies to explain confusing concepts and providing the student with worksheets and other hands on activities to further enhance their understanding of the concepts. Overall, I make personalized and adaptable lessons plans depending on the students needs and way of learning to provide them with a tailored and effective tutoring experience.
