Personal Description:
I believe that students should be able to tap into their natural curiosity about the world around them. My job as a chemistry tutor is to foster student learning through exploration using inquiry-based teaching rather than rote memorization and recitation of facts. I am a huge advocate for students growing into scientifically literate citizens with my help.
Tutoring Experience:
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a bachelor's degree in biology. After that, I earned a master's degree in science education to teach chemistry and biology at the secondary level. My work experience includes teaching at the high school level. I have also researched plant genetics, organic chemistry, and biology.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that as a chemistry tutor, I need to guide my students through their learning. I will challenge myself to provide innovative approaches to help my students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, often incorporating the student's own interests.
