Personal Description:

I have just completed my third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce Integrated Business and Humanities program at McMaster University. I am passionate about creating a safe space for our youth to learn and eventually, build confidence to navigate daily challenges! I enjoy reading, singing, travelling, meeting new people and watercolour painting.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a variety of experience working with children and youth. This past year, I was a workshop facilitator with McMaster Children and Youth University. I effectively delivered creative workshops on the topic of innovation to elementary and middle school students. Other experiences include teaching English abroad in China and being a peer mentor throughout high school.

Tutoring Approach:

I provide a hands-on learning experience, where a student can experiment with trial and error. Working one-on-one with the student will help me identify their optimal learning style. Starting with the basics, I will then incorporate activities that are suited for the student. This may include creative exercises, discussions, games, and practice questions that will keep the student engaged and increase their retention of knowledge. I also encourage students to ask questions and engage in discussions to foster creative thinking and a problem-solving mindset.

The initial meeting will help me identify the needs of the students to see if we can be a good match moving forward. I hope to create a meaningful tutoring experience!
