Personal Description:
I have been teaching elementary students for over 25 years.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching in elementary school for over 25 years and have been tutoring students over the years. I have a Masters in Education and in addition to obtaining my teaching degree, I have an undergraduate degree in Honours History and English.
Tutoring Approach:
In the province of Ontario the Ministry of Education has published the curriculum for all grades and students. The outcomes and expectations of that provincially mandated curriculum would be the basis of my lessons. From there I would have to take into account the learning style and strengths of the student I was working with. I would use comments from Provincial Progress Report and Report Cards, along with my own assessments and parental input to determine the focus for learning.
