Personal Description:

I always tell my students it is my goal to help them discover the often exciting and personal connections between the past and their lived experiences of the present. Once a subject becomes personally relevant to a student learning it becomes so much easier. In addition to tutoring all levels of Latin, I also tutor honors versions of the subject such as AP Latin.

Tutoring Experience:

I earned my undergraduate degree in history and my Ph.D. in art history. I've taught Latin, history, and humanities courses in universities and high schools for more than fifteen years. I have additionally tutored students privately in classical culture and myth, Latin, European history, and art history.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe it's necessary to understand what each student does and doesn't like about the subject because learning is often less about the specific skill and more about the intrinsic motivation to learn. Once this has been identified, tailoring sessions to the student's learning style and academic needs also becomes easier.
