Personal Description:
An anthropologist with a Master of Arts in Conflict Studies, I have a wealth of experience in ancient & modern history, politics, political-economics, anthropology, social psychology, and religious studies.
I am highly skilled at writing feedback and editing, especially essay writing and assisting with research and methodological skills.
My experience also spans creative writing as I am a novelist who has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts for my work. I have supported countless new writers in their work: through editing, exploring theme, narrative, character and world-building.
Tutoring Experience:
Graduate writing tutor and undergraduate essay writing feedback specialist
Adult education workshop facilitator for seniors' groups on special topics of interest.
Counsellor and drama teacher for the youth musical theatre camp
Tutoring Approach:
I encourage students to learn at their own pace, and believe in patience and understanding what marks progress for each person individually. I believe in learning through practice, through simple and familiar examples that help to break down larger ideas and questions. I know each student learns in a unique way, and develop ways of making learning easier for each student in their own way.
