Personal Description:

As someone who has been a lifelong learner, being able to mentor others gives me great joy. I recognize that every person has different abilities and different needs and that it is very important to focus on what makes us unique and how we can work with that to learn better. Having a strong relationship with my students and an atmosphere of mutual respect is also key.

Tutoring Experience:

I received my bachelor's degree and am presently pursuing a graduate program. I really enjoy being a math tutor because I'm great at breaking down problems for people so that they can be solved. I'm also a big believer in encouraging students to ask questions and learn through the Socratic method.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring approach is to find out where the student is having difficulty, and focus my energies on fixing their weaknesses or areas where they lack clarity. Learning is a process, and students need to be supported and encouraged by their teachers. I also like to find out what motivates my students because a lot of success does come down to persistence so if you can figure out how to keep them in the game so to speak that is half the battle.
