Personal Description:
I am a very science driven individual. After working at a science museum for 5 years, I pursued and completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Geography and teachable in music. I am also one year away from completing a Bachelor of Education. My ultimate goal is to be a biology teacher. Discussing science, sharing it, and learning from others is one of my biggest passions.
Tutoring Experience:
Working as a science educator at a science center (Science North) for 5 years. Various student teacher placements ranging from grades 4-12. The Concurrent Education program at Laurentian University also consisted of many courses on teaching.
Tutoring Approach:
The tutor should get to know their student and get a feel for their learning style & personality. Otherwise the student won't feel as though they're understood, and won't want to participate. The tutoring atmosphere should feel more like open discussion rather than a lecture. I firmly believe that all questions are smart questions. I love the phrase "edutainment" referring to the fun learning environment that should come with teaching.
