Personal Description:

I bring over 10 years of education into my services as an English tutor. I also tutor ESL. During my tutoring sessions, I always put the student's needs first and consider their short- and long-term goals as well while providing feedback they can use to focus on improvement. I can tutor in English grammar and syntax, phonics, reading, and high school and college level English.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in intercultural studies and, in 2014, I earned a master's in TESOL. In 2003, I obtained my certificate in English language teaching to adults. For more than 10 years, I have taught English as a second and foreign language in the U.S… Spain, and China, to children and adults in group and one-on-one settings.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe communication, encouragement, and positive reinforcement are critical in helping students reach for their learning goals. Being an independent learner is too, and I often point students to resources, including interactive websites, that can help them make progress. When the going gets tough, I reteach concepts by breaking them down and tailoring the lesson to the student's unique strengths and weaknesses.
