Personal Description:
One of the best parts of my day is when I am teaching chemistry, whether in the lab or in the classroom. I enjoy helping students solve problems and providing them with simple and effective analogies to explain difficult concepts and ideas that are sometimes hard to envision. My passion for chemistry and my commitment to student learning are what motivate me and fuel my clarity and effectiveness as a teacher. My passion, extensive experience, and advanced qualifications make me more than willing and able to undertake the work of a chemistry tutor.
Tutoring Experience:
I completed my undergraduate education and obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I am currently a third-year graduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry. I have been working as a teaching assistant since I was an undergraduate student and have taught general chemistry (I and II), honors general chemistry, and a graduate/undergraduate listed biochemistry course. I have also been the recipient of two teaching awards that recognized my exceptional teaching skills and abilities. I also have experience tutoring and mentoring both middle and high school students.
Tutoring Approach:
My tutoring strategy is based on using simple analogies to help students understand concepts and clear explanations to help them understand problem solving and strategies. I aim to create a safe learning environment for my students where they feel comfortable asking questions and asking for help when they need it.
