Personal Description:
I have a B.Sc. in physics (University of Toronto) and B.Ed.(Brock University) for teaching amthematics and pscience. I like mathematics and science, especially physics, chemistry and geology. I also like computer programming and astronomy. The more you study science and math, the more exciting the world becomes. There are so many wonders we are discovering and exploring from new planets in space, erupting volcanoes on earth to new discoveries in particle physics. Math is the language of science and it builds as you learn more. Science is so important to solving the world's problems.
I like the outdoors, especially playing hockey, bird watching and biking.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught at Seneca College in Toronto for 14 years, from 1996 to 2005, then again from 2015 to 2018. I teach math, physics and computer programming. Over the same time period I have done private tutoring as well as work for tutoring agencies, tutoring math, physics and science.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is flexible in scheduling. I try to relate the material in one course to other courses. For math I encourage an exploratory approach with graphing calculators and software.
There are some really interesting videos on educational websites which bring concepts to life.
Often students will ask questions concerning current affairs in science and I try to relate it to the material they are learning.
