Personal Description:

I am able to help students with a range of reading and writing topics. I have experience as a researcher, student, instructor, and English tutor with topics ranging from children's literature to transatlantic and modernist literature. Having taught in both 1-on-1 and classroom settings, I can incorporate a wide range of techniques to make difficult concepts accessible for students. I am able to address the areas that are most important for a particular student and work to develop a student's writing, critical thinking, and research abilities.

Tutoring Experience:

I graduated Magna Laude and earned a bachelor's degree in English. I have a master's degree in English as well. I have spent years working in different university writing centers to help students polish their writing. Also, I have been tutoring others in various subjects since I was 16.

Tutoring Approach:

My focus as an English tutor is on the student's needs and learning style. Based on what they hope to accomplish, I then work to scaffold ideas so that the skills they learn build on each other in coherent ways.
