Personal Description:

I grew up in Ontario, and have spent a great deal of time traveling and working abroad before settling in Vancouver. I play a lot of sports including soccer, volleyball and hiking. I taught mathematics and physics at an international baccalaureate high school in Vancouver as a full time BC certified teacher however I live a double life, and I am currently pursuing my Engineering License with the Province of BC.

I have a bachelor of education (B.Ed), as well as a bachelor of civil engineering (BSc) from Queen's University.

Tutoring Experience:

I am B.C Professional Certified Teacher with over 2 years of full-time teaching experience. I have taught grade 11 physics, grade 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 mathematics at Alexander Academy in Vancouver. Additionally, I have also tutored over 20 students from B.C. and Ontario through tutoring companies and independently. My tutoring experience is also quite varied including science and math from grade 4 to grade 12.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to take a practical approach to teaching, to rela**Contact Detail Removed**arning to situations that students are familiar with and interested in. I focus on what students already know, and build new skills on top of that This allows them to develop deeper understandings of material, and greater confidence in what they know. I typically encourage students to work from their class notes as we study so that we can support the existing learning pathways already put in motion by their teachers.
