Personal Description:

I have obtained my Bachelor Degree in Sciences at University of Toronto, and currently working on my PhD at York University, doing research in the field of epigenetics. Besides my research, I teach 3rd and 4th year courses as both course director and teaching assistant. I enjoy teaching and thinking alongside my students to tackle science problems and learn new perspectives on looking at things. My hobbies include learning new things, chess, playing guitar, soccer, and brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a course director at York University, teaching fourth year Biology of Cancer course. I am also a teaching assistant, teaching 3rd and 4th year students molecular biology and biotechnology. I worked as a private tutor for more than 7 years as well, teaching high school sciences and university level biology.

Tutoring Approach:

I am an engaging and organized tutor. I make short and long term study plans with students, and organize our studies around these goals. I also teach them how to master exams. I require students to explain me a learned concept in order to assess their understanding, and help polish their thinking process. I make use of concept maps to assist in learning and remembering what is learned with a greater stability.

I am confident in my teaching style, which has been compatible with all of my students without exception. In our first class, I will require you to give me a subject you want to learn more about, and I will teach you this subject, using my way of learning.
