Personal Description:
My name is Autumn , I'm currently a professional volleyball player for Team Canada. I went to Michigan State University from 2013-2018 and studied Elementary Education. I spent a year playing overseas in Turkey and am now living in Vancouver, Canada rehabbing a knee injury. I am looking to tutor while I'm living here until I am back playing volleyball for the national team again.
Tutoring Experience:
I graduated from Michigan State University in Elementary Education. Michigan State is the number one school in the US for elementary education and has been for the past 21 years. Throughout my 5 years of university, I taught in several different classrooms ranging from Kindergarten- Grade 5. I taught all subjects but specialized in Language Arts in my degree. I have been volunteering at a youth after school program where I practice reading with students.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is to break it down with a student to see where help is needed in order to understand a subject matter. Simplifying it, in order to learn and then apply what we've learned to future problems. I also strongly believe that students learn differently. I don't personally learn well by hearing, but by trying something myself and then asking for help. I'm willing to work with students and teach and learn in the best way possible for their learning style.
