Personal Description:
Hello! I am a kind, fun and flexible teacher to work with. I have worked as a Special Education (Resource) Teacher in an alternative school in Langley where my primary focus is working with grades 8 through 12 students that have learning difficulties or reading, writing, and behavioural challenges. Currently I am a full-time Teacher at a rural high school in Langley. I also have past experience working with late elementary to middle school aged students as well.
Tutoring Experience:
Half a year of grade seven mathematics tutoring
Two months of late elementary sports clinics and middle school transition programs
One year of middle school social sciences and special education teaching
One year of alternative secondary school special education teaching
Two years of secondary school special education and psychology teaching
Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring should be something that compliments the students’ desired ways of learning and exploring. My perspectives on tutoring are similar to that of teaching. I believe in a learning experience that is tailored to a students interests and strengths while still offering occasional growth opportunities for students by coaching them through their areas of struggle with practical strategies and consistency.
