Information About Anastasiia
Vancouver tutorPersonal Description:
An undergraduate student in UBC studying psychology and Spanish with the intention to enter graduate school in the future to obtain PhD in clinical psychology. I completed high school program in UK (A-levels) and received A*A*AA in following subjects: Russian, Spanish, chemistry and psychology. I’m very passionate about learning new languages and I’m able to speak 3 languages at a professional level. I’m very punctual, understanding, communicative and I will always try to find a connection with my students, so they feel comfortable with me! Furthermore, I will always try to accommodate to the needs of the student, so we can achieve a desired result
Tutoring Experience:
While studying in high school I became a teacher assistant in English class and was helping to mark the papers, as I had a greater knowledge in the subject. Furthermore, I was tutoring the daughter of friends of my parents to prepare her for International English exam. Moreover, during my time at high school, while I was studying A-levels, I offered a free help to my friends in order to help them understand various topics in chemistry, psychology and Spanish.
Tutoring Approach:
In my lessons we are going to concentrate on grammar, reading and writing skills. Furthermore, depending on the level, we can discuss different aspects of the culture of Spain and Latin American countries, including: celebrations, traditions, architecture, politics, history and society. We are going to enhance our understanding by watching videos, listening to songs, reading various texts. Speaking about psychology, during our lessons we are going to learn about roots of psychology, research methods, and, depending on the interest, we can choose topics, such as neuroscience, clinical / health / social psychology, intelligence, development, motivation and learn more about these topics. For the classes I’m going to prepare a power point and after it I’m going to give a quiz in order to ensure that material was remembered.
