Information About Amanda
London tutorPersonal Description:
I am a 19 year old student who is studying history and religion at the University of Western. Although I am still working on obtaining my degree, I have proficient knowledge in many subjects ranging from science to english. I finished high school with an overall average of 89%, granting me 2 incredible scholarships.
As a child, I had a difficult time in school. This experience has led me to a passion of teaching, which I hope to pursue as a future career. My goal is to assist youth in their journey to success by teaching in a way that supports the individual needs and abilities of the student.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 4 years of experience teaching youth from a variety of backgrounds and learning styles. I worked as a camp counsellor and outdoor educator with the GRCA (Grand River Conservation Authority) off and on for 3 years, teaching youth and adults basic knowledge on ecosystems and outdoor science. I have also spent time volunteering in public schools, teaching one-on-one english and math to ESL students.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that everybody has the ability to be successful, but there is no doubt that we all learn in unique ways that may differ from those around us. I strongly feel that the key to academic success is proper support and a positive attitude. That being the case, I look to provide individualized teaching methods that fit the specific needs of the student.
