Information About Alissia
Mississauga tutorPersonal Description:
As a York University graduate, I believe I possess an excellent set of oral and written communication skills, strong leadership proficiencies and a great deal of professionalism. I value commitment, respect, honesty, integrity and inclusivity allowing for my wholesome values to translate into my everyday work. With my most recent work experience as a Teacher at St. Marcellus C.S, the skills I possess will certainly assist me with the opportunity to succeed as a Tutor for First Tutors Canada. I am currently undertaking my Master of Education at York University, and believe continuous education is the pillar to educational life long learning.
Tutoring Experience:
In my role as a Teacher for a grade two class at St. Marcellus C.S. This experience required a significant amount of organizational and communicative skills. My strengths lay in using classroom resources for a fun and interactive learning session where students can apply their kinaesthetic learning styles to critical curriculum content. Finding a balanced, holistic approach to learning in individual settings, small group situations or large learning sessions while accommodating different learning and academic levels, are situations I strongly succeed in. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have adapted between synchronized and asynchronized learning. The ever-changing environment has taught me to become more resilient and flexible working and teaching in varying circumstances. I have also previously worked as a Tutor, teaching grade 4 and 9 student Mathematics and Geography.
Tutoring Approach:
I aspire to create a positive, happy, inclusive and productive environment where all students felt safe and eager to learn.
