Personal Description:
Hi! My name is Alex, and I live in Fernie, BC. I have a Master's degree in biology from Queen's University and I am currently working as a consultant for mining companies. I love dogs, reading, and hiking.
Tutoring Experience:
I have tutored high school students in chemistry, biology, science and math. I was lucky enough to teach outdoor education for a while, including cross-country skiing, canoeing, and survival skills. I also taught undergraduate biology labs during my Master's degree.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring focuses on helping students have a solid grasp of core concepts by breaking these concepts down into understandable terms and getting to a place where the student can explain the concept back to me. I pride myself on never saying "no" or "that's wrong", but instead saying "that's a good idea, but… ". I am patient, consistent, and knowledgeable.

She also provided extra resources for after class learning.
It has made all the difference in helping to make my daughter successful in grade 11 biology. I will continue to engage Alex in 12th grade as well.
