Personal Description:

My name is Wade and I am a 30 year old male teacher. I have 7 years experience in both primary and secondary education. I am available for tutoring in mathematics for students from grade 4 up until year 10. I am also available for university students completing their ACER initial teacher test (Numeracy component). I am available after school hours and some weekend spots. I am happy to do online sessions or travel to a convenient location.

I offer a premium Mathematics tutoring service that is individualised for the student's needs. We set goals and work backwards to identify the areas of focus for our sessions. This includes identifying areas of focus and intervention in general mathematics, continue to support in current curriculum studied at school and develop strategies for preparation and study techniques.

Tuition Experience:

I have taught in a Secondary College (7-10) for the previous 5 years and have worked in a primary setting for the 2 years prior to that. I have taught mathematics at all levels from prep to year 10. I am currently employed at a primary school as a numeracy specialist and support and work with teachers to maximise their teaching of mathematics as well as taking focus groups for students struggling and those excelling.

Tutoring Approach:

The session structure is as follows:

1. Current course work/Curriculum.
I will teach the student course work they are learning in class. The aim will be to work ahead of the class so when the student gets in class they can better understand the teacher's explanation and consolida**Contact Detail Removed**anings from our tutoring sessions. This ensures class time can be used to its full potential.

2. Problem solving skills
I will go through core mathematics skills to enable problem solving to occur. I will focus on breaking down questions and setting good practice to be able to compete any question the student is faced with.

3. Exam/Test preparation and strategy.
I will focus on specific content for any upcoming exams/tests to ensure the student is fully prepared.

4. Revision.
I provide a revision structure that ensures any of the work learnt in previous sessions is continuously being practised and doesn't have to be re-learnt.

My aim is to ensure that students feel respected and comfortable to ask questions and to ensure that they are comprehending all material. I have experience in developing lessons in multiple ways to ensure this occurs. Please feel free to get in contact to ask any questions.
