Personal Description:
I have recently finished full-time teaching and my role as head of the science department. I originally worked as an industrial chemist but found that I enjoyed teaching science when I was a tutor in Oxford.
Tuition Experience:
I have taught HSC chemistry and junior science for 35 years and prior to that I was an A level chemistry tutor in Oxford for 3 years. I was a HSC marker for 10 years.
Tutoring Approach:
I start by discussing with the student what topics they find difficult and need help in. I use the resources that I have built up over the years to explain the concept clearly, To test this understanding, the student and I will work through a range of problems on the concept from more accessible to difficult.
