Personal Description:

My name is Rae, an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist, specialising in piano and keyboard instruments. I am a composition and performance graduate of the University of Melbourne Music Conservatorium in Australia and have a Master of Music from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London.

As a composer, I work across a broad range of genres in collaboration with performing and visual artists, in film, theatre, dance, concert hall, and multimedia productions. As a pianist, I perform my original works and contemporary music from a vast range of different genres, from classical, jazz and world music, to pop, rock and folk music. Improvisation also forms a part of my practice.

Tuition Experience:

I have 25+ years experience in professional music education, performance, recording and touring projects. I founded my own music teaching studio in London (2011-2019), working with a huge range of people from a young age to the elderly, from beginners level to advanced and top-tier career-driven musicians. Currently based in regional Victoria Australia, I teach individual musicians in music performance, theory, composition, career coaching, and I lecture for Higher Education Institutions in numerous creative industries subjects.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about approaching music creatively, adapting to different settings and applying a tailor-made approach to students, to be flexible with varying learning abilities, styles, interests, and needs of the students. I like to make it fun, relevant and inspiring for any student wishing to learn.
